Still Life with White Chrysanthemums

In Still Life with White Chrysanthemums, Alvi Siren brings flowers, fruit, glass vessels, and bottles together in a richly layered composition. Three large white chrysanthemums rise above the arrangement, their pale flower heads opening against a softly worked background of turquoise, blue-green, and muted yellow.

The chrysanthemums are held in a tall, flared vase at the centre. Their narrow white petals radiate around warm golden centres, while slender blue-green stems establish a delicate vertical rhythm. The vase is painted in cream, peach, green, and rose, its curving sides framing the stems and leaves within.

A smaller green glass vase stands to the left, holding compact red flowers that provide a vivid counterpoint to the elevated white blooms. Two dark bottles rise on either side of the central arrangement, giving structure to the composition and enclosing the flowers and fruit within a varied sequence of vertical forms.

Below, a footed glass bowl contains red apples and two large golden fruits, while pink grapes spread freely across the foreground. A separate yellow fruit rests near the lower right, creating a quiet visual echo with the fruit gathered in the bowl. Reflections in the glass vessels and polished table surface add depth to the densely arranged objects.
