Oranges

In Oranges, Alvi Siren presents a fruiting branch against an expansive field of blue. Six oranges are distributed across the vertical composition, their rounded forms creating a steady rhythm among the angular stems and pointed leaves.

The oranges are painted in saturated shades of amber, golden yellow, and deep orange. Dense touches of cream and pale yellow enliven their surfaces, suggesting the textured rind and the play of light across the fruit. Slight variations in colour and position allow each orange to retain an individual presence.

Bright yellow-green stems descend through the composition, dividing into smaller branches that connect the fruit and foliage. Their diagonal and curving movement guides the eye from the upper edge towards the lower clusters, giving structure to the arrangement without making the image feel rigid.
