Figure in Flow
In Figure in Flow, Alvi Siren creates an abstract composition where a sculptural human form appears to emerge from sweeping fields of colour. At the centre, a pale torso-like figure is shaped through soft blue, white, and lavender tones, its rounded volumes contrasting with the energetic movement around it.
The surrounding colours move like curtains or currents. Greens gather along the left side in dense, organic strokes, while a band of orange, yellow, and red cuts diagonally through the composition with warmth and intensity. Above, deep violet and burgundy forms create a darker counterweight, adding depth and drama to the scene.
Alvi’s brushwork gives the painting a strong sense of motion. The figure seems both solid and fluid – like a sculpture caught within shifting veils of colour. Dark blue forms at the lower edge deepen the composition, while the small red three-petal shape in the lower left introduces a vivid, flower-like accent.
Rather than presenting the body literally, Figure in Flow becomes an exploration of form, energy, and transformation. Through contrast between pale sculptural volume and flowing abstract colour, Alvi Siren creates an image suspended between figure and movement, stillness and motion.
