A large open lily dominates the lower-right foreground. Its broad petals unfold in shades of raspberry, burgundy, plum, violet, and pale pink, illuminated by small strokes of white and soft blue. Darker contours trace the ruffled edges and inner folds, giving the flower a strong sculptural presence. Yellow stamens rise from its centre, introducing a vivid burst of light against the richly coloured petals.

Above it, another lily opens across the upper centre of the composition, its elongated petals extending outward through the surrounding greenery. On the left, additional blossoms turn at different angles, creating a continuous rhythm of overlapping petals and flowering forms. The variation in scale and direction allows the eye to move naturally through the garden rather than settle on a single isolated bloom.

Several unopened and partially opening buds appear along the right side. Painted in bright yellow-green, cream, burgundy, and violet, these compact forms provide a striking contrast to the expansive lilies.
